How it works
Glutathione is a tripeptide — three amino acids (glutamate, cysteine, and glycine) — that your body synthesizes and maintains in nearly every cell. It's frequently described as the body's 'master antioxidant' because it's central to neutralizing reactive oxygen species and to recycling other antioxidants like vitamins C and E. It also participates in liver detoxification chemistry and in regulating the cell's redox (oxidation-reduction) balance.
Those are real, well-characterized biochemical roles. What's far less settled is whether administering supplemental glutathione meaningfully changes health outcomes in otherwise healthy people — and we're careful not to overstate that. We describe glutathione strictly in structure/function terms and avoid 'detox' marketing.
What it's been studied for
- Antioxidant and redox-balance pathways
- Liver and oxidative-stress contexts
- Markers associated with oxidative balance
“Studied for” describes what research has examined — not a promise of any outcome for you.
What the evidence says
Human data for this peptide is limited. A licensed provider can discuss what the current evidence does and does not support for you.
What to expect at Clyne
Glutathione is given by injection or IV under provider direction after an intake review. Baseline labs aren't typically required. As a compounded preparation, it is not FDA-approved.
Your provider explains what a session involves and what to expect afterward.
Safety & considerations
Your provider screens your history and medications and can decline if it isn't appropriate. Reported effects are generally mild, but as with any injectable, reactions are possible and worth discussing.
Be skeptical of dramatic claims — particularly skin-lightening marketing, which outpaces the evidence. A provider can give you a grounded picture of what's actually supported.
Regulatory status
This peptide may be compounded by a licensed pharmacy under a patient-specific prescription. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. A regulatory category that permits compounding is not the same as FDA approval.
Common questions
Is glutathione a 'detox'?
We avoid 'detox' framing. Glutathione is an endogenous antioxidant with real roles in redox balance and liver chemistry; that's different from the vague 'detox' marketing you'll see elsewhere.
Is it FDA-approved?
The compounded glutathione offered here is not FDA-approved or reviewed by the FDA for safety or effectiveness.
